You cannot be connected to a network when you want to print. You have to go into settings and connect to your printer. Then enter the code you get from HP after going online to print out this information. You only need to use the 8 digit code the first time. This is how it worked for me after I finally figured the sequence out with my iPhone 6s. You must make your printer connected each time you want to print. After you get this down, it’s so handy!
