“I have a mobile phone, not a smart phone, I use only for emergencies. I do not text or have/use apps, period. To set up/operate this printer, is the use of an app required? Can I use this printer by installing the drivers on my home PC w/out using apps?”

Thank you for the question. You can download the drivers from 123.hp.com. A better solution is to load the HP Smart App on your computer for easiest installation and the benefit of all of the printer's features.
