“There is only one cartage for color ink. How does it work? In my experience different colors do not get used up all at the same time. Do I waste ink when one color is empty and others are not?”

There is only 1 cartridge for color. This is not a photo quality printer. This is an excellent home printer that prints anything you want but I send my photos to Walgreens. I print crochet/knitting patterns in color and am fine with that.
