Hello and thank you for your question. An external CD/DVD drive can easily be added/connected to this HP ENVY desktop with a USB cable, and this ENVY desktop model is compatible with many different monitor brands including Dell monitors.

Please try again later.As to your question about adding a CD/DVD drive, you can't add one internally - there's no through-the-case mounting capability that you would need to access the CD/DVD drive. However, you can easily connect an external CD/DVD drive via one of the many USB ports included on this computer. As to your question about your Dell monitor, most likely it will work with this computer. The challenge is the cable that you will need to successfully connect the monito to the computer. If you have a standard VGA cable (VGA male to VGA male connectors), and a VGA female connector on your monitor, then you're all set - the computer and monitor will automatically connect with each other, as there is a female VGA port on the computer built-in. If that's not the case, you'll have to find the cable that you need to successfully connect the monitor to the computer, but once that's done, the monitor will almost certainly work with this computer.
