This computer can take up to 32 gigabytes of RAM. Because it has two slots for RAM and one of them is open, you can add an 8 gigabyte module to got to 12 gigabytes. Generally, you'll get the best performance if the two modules are matched in terms of capacity and speed, but you can certainly add an 8 to the existing 4 gigabytes if you need to have more than 8 gigabytes.

2x4 total of 8gb installed, can do max of 16gb, would recommend matching sticks in size and frequency, ot you matly run into problems.
