“Will this printer print with only black? Meaning if I run out of color or have no color cartridges in will it still work? I know most printers won’t print unless all the cartridges have ink in them. Thank you”

Thank you for the question. No, the LaserJet Pro M479fdn requires are toner cartridges in place for printing.
