no I suggest purchase the longest one available for example the 10 foot one. If not having a too short cable can result in damage of either the printer or the computer by stretching the connection too far.

Therefore you will not need to stretch the printer or the other device possibly a computer space needed for device connection. You will be sorry with the average footage of 5 t 6 feet long. I purchased the 10 foot long and am very happy with it
