I would think that if you use it wirelessly, it would not impact it.When connecting wirelessly, the printer scans for service in your area and when it finds them it asks which is your service, you provide the info for that and printer locks in on that. did not have to install software, it automatically did it for me.If you loose signal check for signal strength. Printer goes to sleep when not in use.
