“Fax Options Can this unit be set to give a caller the option to "press 2 if you want to fax" or something like that so we can receive faxes when away from the office? Or does it require a dedicated fax line?”

You can not set an option to fax when a person dials in, but it will detect the fax signal after the voicemail prompt.

If the answering machine comes on and a fax is coming in, the fax machine takes over the line and we receive the fax just like normal. I there is no fax machine the printer can be set to answer after a certain number of rings

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.As far as I know, you need dedicated number, not necessarily a second line. E.g., I have custom ringing on my single line that Century Link provides a number for, which I use as my fax number. Set up printer to detect custom ring and you're good.
