“Hi, Can one tray be loaded with letter size paper and one tray be loaded with envelopes at all times? If so, when printing does it ask you which tray to print to? or does it automatically print based on whether it's letter sized document or envelope?”

Yes it can be separate as you describe, as long as the size your computer is trying to print is defined in the document setup and you’ve told the printer what sizes are in each tray when you print and select “automatic” for the tray selection, it will take from each tray appropriately.

It may suggest which tray based on the document, but it's safest to verify that it's going to pull from the correct tray.
