• With a computer, you already have a smart TV, and more, so all you need is a browser and a Roku account to access Roku media on it. The external monitor would allow give you a (probably better and) larger screen. Conversely, if you already have a Roku stick, you don't need a PC at all to access Roku's channels, and therefore there is nothing gained by connecting the PC and TV.
