“I just bought this last week. Is the battery life much shorter with zoom meetings? My daughter only gets a few hours (4-6) before she has to plug this laptop in again. I'm worried that the battery won't last all day when she has to take it to school.”

The battery is listed at 9 hours, so that's not normal for Zoom meetings. If she doesn't have a bunch of other things running, then you'll need to contact the HP support team to see if they can troubleshoot what's going on.
