Not sure why they say white as you get the 4 bottles as shown in the picture and very easy (no mess) fill.

Hello, and thank you for your question! The HP Smart Tank 5101 uses Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow ink. It does not use white ink, but it does use white paper as a canvas for printing.
