Yes - when in tablet mode the speakers are technically covered but while the sound volume reduces it isn’t muffled. It was a concern I had prior to buying but I use wireless headphones most of the time so it was a trade off that I could live with. The gracefulness of going from laptop to tablet without having to bend the screen backwards was worth it to me. It is the closest experience to having my iPad in my hands that I have found. I like the fact that the keyboard is completely covered when I am I. Tablet mode and not resting on my lap.
