This laptop does not have a DVD player. However you can watch movies online. You can download music and download apps to use on the computer, as well as to chat. It can be used for skype as well.

However, you can certainly use an external DVD drive, which will connect to any available USB port. It's designed for online use and streaming, so it will be perfect for chatting and streaming movies and music, although it doesn't have a lot of storage space to actually download the music. You can use a MicroSD card to increase storage if you like.
