it connects to 4G T-Mobile here at US and can connect to local network at Taiwan (3G) under T-Mobile's overseas plan.

According to reports, the USA version bands for 3G are HSDPA 850, 900, 1700, 1900 and 2100, while the global version supports bands 800 and 1800 in addition to the above bands. As for 4G, you get LTE band 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 25(1900), 26(850), 29(700), 30(2300), 41(2500) FOR THE AMERICAN VERSION and LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 9(1800), 17(700), 19(800), 20(800), 28(700), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500) FOR GLOBAL. 2G bands consist of 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 *FOR GSM and 800 / 1900 *FOR CDMA on ALL models.
