Yes, there is an ethernet connection on the back of the motherboard. There is not slot for a DVD drive.

There is no hole to add a DVD drive internally. However there are additional SATA connections on the motherboard should you need to connect one temporarily, or you can use an external DVD Drive to use the included software. I used another computer to create ISO images of the discs then shared the ISO images over the network- though this will not work if Windows 10 isn't starting correctly!
