There should be 6 sata connections on the mother board. Three on the bottom right (horizontal) and three on bottom right (vertical). I added, my 2 addition drives to the sata ports on the vertical sata ports. The two drives that came with the machine were plugged into the horizontal sata slots, I figured I'd use the vertical ones cause it looked better and I didn't mess with that original configuration.
