“Just got my pc and plugged it into my monitor. Monitor showed no connection error and I tried 2 different hdmi cables. Not sure what to do next”

you have it plugged into the wrong port, this computer has an addition video card, you need to plugged your HDMI cord into the video card slots its about half way down in the middle of the computer
