Yes. In my opinion, it would be loud enough to allow them to hear the conversation.

But if you dont have a wire to connect your ipad directly on it you will have a time delay of 1/2 second from the facetime video stream so if you only use Bluetooth you will have a time delay that can be annoying at long uses... But you can always buy a small auxiliary cable for 2$!
