“Are the "USB Ports" the older USB 3.1 which I believe are now called "USB-A? These are the ones I want so I don't have to spend more money for some elaborate dock plus cables, etc. I'm old fashioned. Thanks, George.”

No, all USB ports on the new iMacs are USB-C. I purchased a USB-A to C hub with four USB-A ports that works great. I think I paid around $30
