Neither wire is specifically positive or negative, you just have to make sure whichever wire you connect to the positive on one side, you connect to the positive on the other side.

It doesn't really matter as far as conductivity, but make sure you have positive connections on the amplifier/receiver connected to positive terminals on each speaker. This will prevent out-of-phase and/or heterodyne effects in the audio.
