Midea Model WHS-625FWESS1 from a huge Chinese company with plants all over the world, except here. Samsclub featured Midea window air conditioners this summer (2018). We bought a basic 5000 BTU unit to supplement in the kitchen and absolutely love it. It looks shiny beautiful, cools like a trooper and is quiet. Sam's carried units on up to many thousands of BTU's. All except the basic mechanical one for $109 carry all the latest electronic features. As an aside we also have a Midea stainless steel insert 6.5 quart instant pot purchased elsewhere that works flawlessly day after day, in fact my original taller instant pot is retired to the basement as a backup. Bottom line, I expect nothing but the best from this very hard working successful company.

We did however find a list of some of the companies they use to make it for them. As there were only a few. Whirlpool (who makes several well known brands like Maytag, Amana, kitchenaid etc.). There were articles online that suggested that G.E. might even make some for them. We were satisfied enough with the little research we did to finally buy it. We use it primarily as a refrigerator and really like it.
