• I programmed my Charter's aux button to control the soundbar - code 10463 worked for me.

• The volume is separate from the TV remote. On my TV, I actually have to select TV speakers or external speakers in the settings. From my experience and research, most external speaker system don't pair with the TV remote. It may be different when you have a home theater system which I don't. I don't find it a terrible inconvenience.
