Can I use this with sling TV as a DVR? null

Unless your Sling allows for recording on an external storage device, no. Even if it did allow external reading/writing the power draw to spin an HDD would probably be more than the sling can provide.

It does not appear at this moment that Sling TV will allow a hard drive to be used as a DVR. It appears you must use their "Cloud DVR" service to that end.
