• This is just the enclosure. You still need to buy the drive to put inside it. Once you insert a drive it will work for Xbox one external storage.

• Yes, it functions as a flash drive and can be plugged into your USB port on the Xbox one. But, this is only a case to safeguard your hard drive you removed from a laptop or purchased. Just insert a hard drive into the box, then use the usb cable to plug it in to your Xbox one. Now you may save to it on Xbox like games, files, etc.
