Macs use a different file system than PC, so there is no way your Surface will be able to read the drive. You will have to use a third party software such as MiniTool to accomplish this.

Apple products use HFS+ file system so you will need to use a program like HFSExplorer or other tool you can find on the web (usually free legally). Search for ‘Read Mac drive with Windows’ and you should be able to solve your problem.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I couldn’t access my files and folders either and that’s because you need to grant your new computer privileges access to the files. On a windows computer you will typically go to the Drive, right click on it and go to Properties. Go to the security tab and click on change permissions. You might need administrator access to it so if the dialog pops up just click on Okay. Apply the changes you make and the computer will run a long process that’ll eventually give you access to the drive.
