• Yes, you require an antenna for viewing channels that do not stream online.

• Yes. Your local channels will only be available with some sort of external antenna since they are digital and over the air. Tgere are some networks available by WFI, but only major networks (I.e) NBC. Once connected to external antenna, scan for the channels.
