I was looking for a replacement TV for my kitchen. My 12" drop down TV died and TV's like that are hard to find. I had a small area on a wall in my kitchen that was appropriate for a small TV. This 24" fit perfectly in that area. I am very glad that I opted for the Roku version. I have Dish Network and didn't want to deal with trying to connect this TV to Dish Network. My old TV was just picking up local broadcast TV, so I was fine with that. Since this TV is a Roku TV, I have connected it via wifi and now I can get a few of my Dish channels, Netflix, Amazon, etc... so I am getting more than I had before without much work. This TV is only 720p, but on this size TV, it looks very good. I have a 4K TV in my living room and this TV receiving OTA broadcasts sometimes looks better than what I am receiving from Dish. In most cases my living room TV shows that I am receiving 1080i, but the actual picture coming from Dish is not that good. My only complaints are the Roku remote and the volume. If you are expecting a TV remote with a full keypad, you won't get it. This is a very simple remote with the bare minimum of buttons. It does get the job done though. The volume does get loud enough, but you do have to turn it up quite high on the scale to get to a reasonable volume level. Other than these small negatives, I really like the TV and can live with these minor inconveniences. This is my second Insignia TV. If you are looking for a TV for a small space, I would highly recommend this one.

    24 inch Insignia Roku

I give the 24Inch Roku Insignia Tele a 2 stars Great picture and sound. But it does not have dual band wifi after updates it has interfeared with my internet and my other Roku tvs I kept on getting HDCP on my 4k and 1080p tvs. The 24 Inch Insignia Roku is my Mom's tv hers kept lagging and freezing up and she had only since last summer. It ran really good until now. So she had to buy a dumb tv and got a Roku stick instead and ever since no problems now my internet is running faster now that the Roku Insignia tv is out of the picture. I tried the rest button and reactivate it still did the same thing so I didn't know what say. But I cannot figure this out on how the Insigina roku tv could effect your other devices and not to mention my modem/router. To slow things down. But like I said ever since we had deactivate it everything is running a lot quicker now. Can anyone out there Figure this out? If Insignia could fix this problem before selling it would be great. But at the moment I would not recommend this tv or any Insignia device. We had their tablets for not even a month and they were very very slow. Insignia should have put 2.6 ghz or higher processors and 64gb or higher storage with 4gb or higher on their tablets. And Tv's. This would make customers happy.

Hi guys - want to give you a heads up if you plan on buying this TV for mainly the Roku software avoid it. I’ve had it for several months in my kitchen. The volume is hard to hear, the stand is wobbly but when it worked streaming on the Roku apps I had no complaints. Best Buy is no longer putting Roku into their Insignia TV’s and signed a deal with Amazon instead and it shows. I use DirecTV Now and with the recent update it no longer works on this tv. The app takes about 3 minutes to load when you turn it on and constantly crashes forcing the whole tv to reboot. I have other Roku sticks and Apple TV’s and don’t have this problem. At 1st I thought no problem - I’ll just put a new supported Roku stick in the tv - but you can’t. They made this tv so the Roku stick won’t even fit because it’s too long. Instead you have to go buy a 90 degree adapter for the hdmi to get it to work. I explained this today to the BB manger and said this is ridiculous and now I’m having to spend half the value of the TV just to make it work again. He agreed and is allowing me to bring the TV back so I can get something else. Think I’m going with the TCL brand with Roku software. Please avoid this tv if you plan on using its Roku software. If it was still supported and didn’t crash I wouldn’t be returning.

We bought this TV to avoid having to rent the digital converter from the Cable carrier. We were told that Roku is the only way to do that. I'm satisfied with TV quality, video, audio, etc. However, it boots up like a computer rather than just turning on like a TV, and you always have to choose which application you want (TV, Roku, YouTube, Hulu, etc) so it takes more time before you can view anything. Also, this TV connects to cable via the provider's app, so you always need internet service. I would still recommend this TV because it does so much if it were not for the remote, which I don't like at all. The design is intentionally small, which means that the volume control and mute button are on the right side; I keep muting the television accidentally. There is no number keypad on it, making it necessary to scroll up or down, possibly through thousands of channels. I wonder how long it will be before that button wears out. I tried, but the TV does not respond to the number pad on what seems to be an otherwise compatible "average" remote. We have another TV in the house with a TiVo and it is much easier and faster to work with that menu and remote.

My bedroom tv died and I needed a small one to replace it and I happened to catch this one on sale. I'm very happy with it! It was easy to connect and I love that not only do I no longer need my Roku box sitting out, but I also don't have the extra remote to keep up with. It didn't add my Roku channels, but I think that was my country wifi and not a problem with the tv or connection. I hooked it up to my Dish satellite via coax cable. To get the tv connected, updated, installed Netflix & Acorn, it took probably about 45 minutes from start to finish. Again, I think that had more to do with our AT&T wifi in the country than the tv itself. I'm very happy with it. The picture is great! I will say that at first I was a little confused as to how I was going to control the tv with the Roku style remote but it was very easy to figure out.

You're not buying a TV, you're renting one

I bought this 24" Insignia Roku TV just over a year ago, and for a year, it worked very well. But over the past few weeks, its ability to connect to WiFi has dropped to the point where using the internet connection for more than a few minutes is impossible (note: I have verified that other devices, including a different brand of Roku TV, work with our home wireless connection.) I brought the TV in, and was informed that it would cost me $35 just to send it in for repairs-- which may or may not resolve the issue. The salesperson then suggested that I could buy a stand-alone Roku box to fix the problem, but had the same issues. This is a great TV if you've made peace with the fact that you'll only be able to use online features for a year; otherwise, I would stay away from Insignia Roku TVs.

Everything is light-grade plastic and I feel like even a fingernail could give it a permanent scratch and I don't have any fingernails. Had some difficulty with the initial setup as it would read my WiFi network but I could not get past the initial software update to fully set up. I had to download update to a flash drive and then complete the first software update manually. Since then connection to my WiFi network has not been an issue. Picture quality is good but the volume is mediocre...maybe it is because the speakers are downward facing but I need to have volume set at 50% or higher to hear any normal dialogue. If I set it higher then I start to get distortion but it is only a kitchen TV and the built in Roku serves its general purpose. For the price ($80) it met my expectations as a third TV but I would not want to rely on it as a primary TV.

This TV was recommended to me by a colleague from work and I would recommend it to others as well. It is nice to have the Roku feature built into the TV instead of having it separate. The picture is very good, but TV sits a bit low and I have to put it on top of a DVD player to add a little height. The volume and mute buttons are on the right side of the remote, instead of being on the top. That is a little inconvenient until you can get used to it. My original TV had a bad speaker, so I took it back to the store and got an exchange with no problem since I bought the 5 year Geek Squad Warranty. I have had the new TV since January 2018 and it seems to be working fine.
