• Unless you desire cable television transmissions, you do not have to hook the tv up to a cable box. The built in Roku connects wirelessly through your internet service to many familiar channels. Many channels on Roku are free, some are pay, and if you have regular cable or premium channels they will also connect after entering qualifying information, in most instances. The tv I purchased had a flickering defect at the top of the screen and was returned, but the Roku worked perfectly. It was the fourth Roku device or tv that I own and the Roku service itself is very good.
