A:Answeri had this problem too- but my window ended up being able to perfectly rest against the hard plastic of the window installation kit! i no longer had any issues with leaking :) i’m not exactly sure the material, but even through storms and big winds it stayed perfectly stable!
A:AnswerSounds like I got your returned A/C.... same model, and same symptoms. It was re-sold to me by Best Buy as "Open Box - Excellent Condition".... doesn't work out of the box, now I'm stuck with it. Thanks!
A:AnswerThank you for your inquiry! The Insignia™ 250 Sq. Ft. Portable Air Conditioner does require venting to the outside to function properly. It uses an exhaust hose to expel hot air out of a window or wall opening, which is essential for the cooling process. If you're looking for a unit that doesn't require venting to the outside, you might consider an evaporative cooler or a portable air conditioner with a built-in dehumidifier. These types of units can cool the air without needing to vent hot air outside. Keith | Insignia Support
A:AnswerThank you for your inquiry! The Insignia™ 250 Sq. Ft. Portable Air Conditioner requires a power supply of 115 volts and operates at 11 amperes. To determine the power rating in watts, you can use the formula: Power (Watts) = Voltage (Volts) × Current (Amperes). For this air conditioner, it would be 115 V × 11 A = 1265 W. Therefore, you would need a generator that can provide at least 1265 watts of continuous power to run this portable air conditioner. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask! Keith | Insignia Support

A:AnswerMy upper drain had a cover spun on and a plug within it - did you remove both before sliding the hose around the outside of the drain nozzle? I would drain the bottom again and plug it, slide the hose over the upper nozzle and place in a bucket or tray. Make sure the hose does not go up from the level it is attached to the nozzle. Turn the unit on and let it run until you start to see water come out or the P1 occurs again. You may also need to squeeze the hose out a bit around the kink it gets during transport to ensure the water can flow through that section.
A:AnswerThank you for your inquiry! The Insignia™ 250 Sq. Ft. Portable Air Conditioner, you should regularly check and empty the drain tray, especially during humid conditions or frequent usage. You typically do not need to move the entire unit to access the drain tray, as most units have accessible drain plugs or trays located at the bottom. You can empty the tray into a container or connect a drain hose to continuously drain the unit, either into a floor drain, sink, or outside through a window. Refer to the user manual for specific instructions on draining the unit effectively. A:AnswerYes, JG11. By setting the mode to Auto, it Automatically selects Cool or Fan mode depending on the temperature setting and the room temperature. So, whenever it reaches the set temperature it will automatically switch to fan mode. Note that you will not be able to adjust the Fan speed while you're on Auto mode. I hope this helps. A:AnswerPortable air conditioners are fitted with thermostats that automatically trigger the unit to turn off when room temperature reaches the desired level. This turning off is normal in the unit's operation and does not indicate an issue. We would love to check this situation further with you! Please feel free to contact us at the link below to get assistance with your unit.

A:AnswerYes! I used insulated foamboard to create a cover for the window. Cut a hole in it and sealed the vent attachment to it with silicone. I removed the screen and attached the foamboard the the window frame using 3m velcro tape. I can still crank the window closed when I want and leave it open when in use. Since it's held in by velcro I can remove it and store it in the winter.
