“Can the airflow be adjusted directly towards the front of the unit at a 90 degree angle? In other words, if I was sitting in front of the unit, would I be feeling the airflow directly?”

The discharge airflow outlet is on the top panel. Press the swing button, adjust the airflow direction and you will be feeling the airflow directly.
