No Pam it's NOT 1080 which is why it says 720 in the description... More importantly, with a screen size of 32 inches it's hard to tell the difference between 1080 and 720 which is why they are making 720s. Both of my college kids got one each and after 3 weeks of watching Netflix, Amazon and broadcast satalite TV neither child can see the difference at their college dorm rooms running over WiFi connections.
