• Yes, but I recommend disabling CEC on the cable box, in some cases the box will randomly turn this TV on. Also, if you're mainly using for cable there's a setting on the TV to return to the last input after turning off and back on.

• Yep, your cable plugs into your cable box which has an hdmi port which plugs into your tv via hdmi cable.
