Yes, you can connect the TV to your WiFi when needed. To disable the Alexa feature you must deregister you Amazon Account, this will limit the Fire TV connected experience; you can still connect an Antenna to watch free over-the-air broadcasts from your local channels, a Cable/Satellite Box, Blu-ray/DVD player or gaming console at any time
