My cable box has a 5 pronged component cord. There are only 3 ports on my TV. They are red, white, and yellow. The comment cord is green, blue,red, white and red. I'm guessing I can match the red and white. Is that right? If so which one goes into the null

Try to connect the green cable into the yellow jack. 
For best picture quality use an HDMI cable to connect your cable box to the Fire TV Edition television.

It will not work, hopefully there is an hdmi connect on the tv box that you can use. If not call your cable provider to upgrade your box.
