It matters how humid the environment is ,I use in a bedroom and unit has about a gallon to two in 4 hrs.
If you hook up a hose this unit will pull a ton of water,needs to be emptied 2x a day,but have never run till
It shut off on its own.

I only had the option for 35 or 50 pint unit . It depends upon usage and size of room , the bigger the room recommend the bigger the unit
