- Answer I ran into same problem and almost returned it. You need to turn off both the Comfort and Continues options. To turn those options off, press on their respective buttons. When they are off the green light should be off for these options. One those options are off and the humidifier is running then press on the up and down buttons to adjust the desired humidity levels. Hope that helps.

- Answer The difference is in moisture removal capacity per day and not the bucket size. The 50 pints one can remove more moisture per day compared to the 35 pints and therefore can cover a larger/more damp area. - Answer The Unit measures humidity with air intake from the back. Placing the back against the wall will reduce performance and efficiency in measuring and removing humidity. I place mine with the right side(facing you) against the wall leaving the intake and discharge facing away from any walls.

- Answer you can also use a standard dishwasher drain hose. This is made of soft rubber and will aattach to the drain spigot by pushing it on and is easier to attach than a hose.
