We live in the Midwest and this unit will be placed in an unfinished basement. I did not see anywhere that this unit has an auto-defrost feature. How can we be sure it will continue to function during our sometimes freezing winters?

The pictures of the 5034Y1 are not consistent. Some show the exhaust out the top, some show the exhaust out the side. Where does the unit exhaust the air: top or side? (BTW: our old broken Fridgidair exhausts out the side).
