• It has a "screen" filter that can be removed and cleaned. It is not an air filter like in HVAC units.

• YES! And the thing really pulls out moisture in my bedroom when the a/c isn't on..Book says wash filter after 250 hoiurs use, theres a light that indicates it needs to be cleaned.
