“I have downloaded the VLC app on my fire TV and it doesn't find my harddrive installed in the USB port. I'm trying to play movies off my harddrive and it's not working on the fire TV. Please help.”

Hi. Thank you for sharing this inquiry with us. The TV's USB port was only designed to read USB flashdrives formatted to FAT32 and with files such as JPEG or MP4. Hard drives are not compatible. Alexander G. - Insignia Support
