“Do I need internet at all times to use this tv or just the set up, If I only intend to use it as a basic tv to play my ps4? I am taking this tv to work, and don't need any of the apps, I just want to use it as a monitor for basic cable and the ps4.”

Hi RayRay! You do not need internet to use the TV. The Smart TV feature is only if you wish to use the Alexa voice remote or to use the applications available.
