“I have a Fire Tv Stick (4K) plugged into a Denon receiver and then am running an HDMI cable from the receiver into the tv. Why does the video from the Fire TV Stick not make it to the tv? I had a Vizio set up that way with no issues but wanted a bigger tv”

Select the appropriate HDMI input, then try to change the HDMI mode as this: Long press the home button, go to Picture > Advanced Settings > HDMI Mode and select Auto.
