“Although I installed a USB drive the TV does not pause live TV for more that a few seconds to a few minutes at most...It is a 30GB USB with nothing else on it and the tv does show it to be in the software/storage space. Thanks for any ideas.”

The additional storage is not designed to pause tv, it is only for file storage
