• If you already adjusted the temperature inside than no it's not normal. Mine got really cold within a few hours if plugging it in.

• Yes, it's normal. Freezing takes time. I keep the temperature setting for my freezer at MAXIMUM COLD. There is a little dial you will see near the top of the unit when you open the door.
