Your best bet is to run through a kodaks to wherever you running it to and make sure that you are put in the cord inside of a tooth you can not buy a weather proofing table by Best Buy or anything else you would have to buy commercial because there are certain conditions for running a ethernet cord outside without it being protective because you will lose signals and everything else and you would have to have a booster to run it

Hi Penny! The answer is.... depends. What I mean is it depends on your internet connection speed, if in fact it's 80ft. from your modem/router to the trailer, etc. A Cat5e cable should be fine. Ethernet cables can be run up to 328 ft. although best practice stay under 250 - 275 ft. for strong signals. The longer the cable the weaker the signal will be in essence. So 80 ft. is well under that. Other considerations are other sources of electrical interference. Is this cable going to be run near power lines, telephone lines, etc. In this case make sure to purchase a cable with shielding to protect against electromagnetic interference (EMI).

You will not receiver speed loss etc with cat 5 there all the same I install WiFi and cable services there’s no difference between all cat 5 cables they all use the same metals, go with the cheapest one you can find. Your problem is adapters the more you have the more mica loss frequency you’ll have, you’ll receive higher dbms which causes signal loss which creates speed loss. So try running one huge Ethernet cable from point a to point b with less face plates or adapters to get the best connection hope this helps FYI your receiving info from a professional technician so hope that helped.
