• Yes the cat-6 Ethernet cord would be great for outdoor. Get the 50 foot one.

• I have a 50' Ethernet from Best Buy and it was about $40 it will go straight from your wifi/internet box to your computer or console you are trying to connect. The rest is following your connected device's settings to finish up connecting. I hope this helped.
