I wouldn't recommend plugging in a 110V appliance into a 220V source, unless you had some device in between to convert the voltage. I guess plugging in a 110V blender directly to 220V is a great way to make infomercials, but it doesn't last very long. They've got a dozen new ones, under the counter, to get through the half-hour show.
