A:AnswerTheoretically, you can add an ice maker to any freezer compartment that is large enough to accomodate it. This particular unit is not designed to have an ice maker. Can one be added? There IS enough room-barely.
A:AnswerThere isn't much cushioning surrounding the fridge, so the box isn't much larger. It's 62 x 27. I was able to fit mine into a Kia Soul, which is pretty small. It did protrude by about 4 inches, so I had to tie the hatch down and take surface streets home, but it was fine.
You should be good w/ an Explorer.
A:AnswerThere are controls in the bottom area that control temperature. There is no shutoff switch. Just unplug unit and move. I had not problem doing so.
A:AnswerI bought this model on Dec. 11, 2018. The freezer unit is a useless zombie. It does not control at any of the 5 freezer settings (all 5 settings yield the same out-of-control, random freezer temperatures, all of which are too warm). I put a thermometer in the freezer compartment, and checked it frequently. Over many days, the freezer has been anywhere between +10 and +40 deg. F, regardless of the control setting. Once, the freezer spent 2 days at +40 deg. F, during which time it thawed the ice cream stored inside, turning it to soup. Most frequently, the freezer spends time between +10 and +20 deg. F. At no time does it ever control to 0 deg. F or below (normal for a freezer).
The refrigerator compartment seems well controlled (at a rock solid 38 deg. F, about where we want it). But, I have just left the refrigerator control setting at 3. So, I don't know if resets itself back to 3 from colder settings.
In summary, from your experience and mine, this model is a piece of useless junk. Best Buy should be ashamed to sell it to unsuspecting customers.
