If you are talking about the Insignia Bluetooth mouse I got it connected to a MacBook Pro thru the Mouse setting not the Bluetooth. Not an Apple person so have no idea why the Bluetooth setting did not recognize it. Probably the software is smart enough to know it is a mouse and it is better to connect thru the mouse setting. One thing I would say about Apple products in general they are the easiest and smartest in term of setup. That's what have brought me from being a Windows/Android person to a Apple person.
